Sun, 24 December 2006 From all of us, to all of you... A Very Merry Christmas! Welcome to the very last show of 2006. Today we talk a little bit about how christmas is celebrated in Sweden. I can't tell of every single tradition of course, but we get past quite a few of them. I also get some surprise greetings! I wish you all a Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you are celebrating this time of year) and a Happy New Year, and hope to talk to you soon again, at the start of 2007. Tue, 19 December 2006 Space Balls! I can't help it but get carried away by the ongoing space trip. Up there somewhere in the orbit of earth, there is a little space station called ISS, and it is pretty small you know if you compare it to our planet. And on that ship there is an even smaller dude, from Bromma outside of Stockholm called Christer Fuglesang, looking down on us all, every time he peaks out of a window or takes a walk (aka EVA). It's amazing! I can't help thinking of the lyrics to the David Bowie song Space Oddity from back in 1969: "For here Am I sitting in a tin can Far above the world Planet earth is blue And there's nothing I can do" So it's a lot of talk about space travel today, but we get into other things too. Snapshot of Sweden: We visit the city of Uppsala and take a tour of the big Cathedral. For more information, try looking it up on www.visitsweden.com. Tue, 5 December 2006 Congratulations...ME! Today it's my name day, and I celebrate this by uh...doing a show?! Well, never the less it still is, and the way we swedes celebrate this is very different and varies from family to family. I'll tell you a bit about all that today. And the winter that I thought was on it's way, suddenly died out and disappeared. Odd! Snapshot of Sweden: We visit the mining town of Falun in the middle part of sweden (which is pretty much north if you ask most of us) and check out the old Falu Copper Mine which has been a source of national income for more than 1.000 years! Now, that's what I call history!
