Tue, 29 August 2006 The crayfish episode! On the weekend that passed we had our official annual crayfish party and we had a blast, but unfortunately I recorded this show prior to the party so no dirty details on this show... But I do tell you a bit about my childhood memories regarding crayfish hunting season and also about another incident that happened last week that has nothing what so ever to do with crayfish, even if it involves a fishy dude! Thu, 24 August 2006 The card playing episode! We're back again with yet another great show, this time recorded at the kitchen table with the new mobile gear, as we indulged in some card playing. Topics of the day: • Mobile gear • 500, Canasta and other card games • Shopping, malls and trousers that "tear" • The Sweden Song, by Travis and April • Ghosts and EVP • The laminated list - the Marie version • Foreign speeding tickets • Gumball 3000 • It's raining cats and dog! Solve the quiz and win a book! We are giving away a copy of Beatrice Ojakangas "The Great Scandinavian Bakingbook" (picture) to the one person who sends us the most correct answer. Send an email to marie@polarbearpodcast.com and you might just win the book! Thanks to our sponsor University of Minnesota Press for letting us have a book to give away like this! Comments[0] |
Tue, 22 August 2006 Welcome to the property tax episode! Hi everyone and welcome back to a regular and a - if I may say so myself - very good episode, where I get a brief visit from Travis and April of The Ponderplace Podcast right before it all begins and we also listen to some great music from way back when... Thu, 17 August 2006 Welcome to DriveCast #1 Welcome to this first attempt at a real drivecast. Of course I screw things up and we loose 1/3 of the content, but hey...We're all beginners at the start, and I am pretty new to this mobile stuff. On the next DriveCast - cause there will be more of them in the future - you will be able to enjoy improved sound and less static due to some serious soundengineering that I am testing right now. It involves a wollen sock and some tape! Hope you all enjoy it anyway! Comments[0] |
Tue, 15 August 2006 The summer is over... ...and the summer was short! And for many people at work summer of 2007 is all they can think of. You see, in this country we use good weather as an exchuse to get off work. We don't want to "waste" good weather since it's so rare. Tue, 8 August 2006 ![]() Like a bolt from the blue... A big part of this show is dedicated to the different phenomenas that we know of as thunder and lightning and the reason for this is because we've been having a great deal of it lately, unlike Tom and Adele of The Loose Ends Show who live close to San Diego and never have thunderstorms. WHY is that??? Also I have a great deal of important announcements on the show. The biggest of them being that I have started a podcasting group for swedish podcasters called SweCasters. Music on the show: South Maxico, Clara & Elin (during intro) The Mellow Bright Band, You Know Me Buddard, Shadow Simpatico, Resolve (during feedback) Mentioned on the show: My Trivia Podcast Comments[0] |

Check it out at http://www.swecasters.com/ and sign up if you fulfill the membership criterias. / Andy "Chairman" of SweCasters Category: general -- posted at: 8:25 AM Comments[0] |
Tue, 1 August 2006 Thrips, Trips and Millimeters Isn't it strange how small things can get? I'm always so astonished by how mice can find thier ways into small, small holes where you can hardly fit a finger. So, don't even get me started on Thrips. One just moved into my screen (picture)! And he didn't even ask first... And I've started cycling to work at last, and this time for real! And that is so much more healthy than driving, especially when you have encounters behind the steering wheel like we did on Sunday! Tell you more on the show. Want to know the answers to the quiz??? Check out the Laminated List Website, where the objects of my admiration are displayed in some kind of priority order. The winner of the Quiz was: SKIP Music on the show: South Maxico, Bow Church Line (during intro) Victoria Lagerstrom, Heaven Sent and Don't keep me waiting Simpatico, Resolve (during feedback) Mentioned on the show: IKEA Podcaster Confessions, with Joseph Nilo Comments[2] |
