Tue, 28 November 2006 Good morning everyone! Thanks to a very kind listener of mine, I am able to record this show in the good company of a little bowl of Hot Tamales. From time to time it feels as if my mouth is on fire but I think we'll get through the whole show without any bigger problems anyway. Can one become addicted to Hot Tamales do you think? Maybe there is something in them that causes that...we'll have to check that out. Tue, 21 November 2006 ![]() Welcome to the kitchen! This is a somewhat unusual episode, totally off the format and that's what makes it so fun! Join me and my assistant (Marie) in the kitchen as we present the very first "A taste of Sweden" and show you how to make some traditional swedish meatballs! Tue, 14 November 2006 Am I being to personal? If I am, please let me know. You see I've got one email from a listener who is of that opinion, but as they say - a feather doesn't make a hen! (Never heard that expression before? Well it might be swedish). Anyway, I think it's nice when the podcast host actually has an opinion. Otherwise I might just as well stick with commercial radio and listen to them sucking up to advertisers all day. What do you think about the show? Tue, 7 November 2006 Scary episode? Well, not really, but on todays show I try to explain the differences between Allahelgona helgen, celebrated in Sweden, and Halloween. But we talk about a lot of other things too of course. We've for instance been living "la dolce vita" the past two weeks when the kids have been out of the house, but that has to stop now! It ain't good for your heart. I've decided to strip the website and shownotes page from all Google, Yahoo and Amazon ads, since they are just messing up the graphic design, and hardly bringing any income at all! Hope you like it! Tue, 17 October 2006 If you're having problems updating the feed in iTunes... I have learnt that one solution to the problem is to unsubscribe from the show, delete all previous shows from iTunes (even if that sounds terrible), and then resubscribe. The feed address is http://polarbear.libsyn.com/rss I don't know why this error is popping up, but I've heard that a lot of people are having the same problem lately. If you have any questions regarding iTunes malfunction, please feel free to email me at any time! Or send a support email to Apple. Tue, 3 October 2006 I wake up every morning eagerly anticipating the new fresh episode of the Daily Breakfast, something that I have become addicted to! This is a podcast from the Netherlands, featuring Father Roderick who is a catholic priest there. Now, wait a minute before you pass judgement. The Daily Breakfast isn't so much about religion, but more about life in general and it's great, so even if you are not religious, or even an atheist I belive that this show can be of great value to you! Tue, 8 August 2006 ![]() Like a bolt from the blue... A big part of this show is dedicated to the different phenomenas that we know of as thunder and lightning and the reason for this is because we've been having a great deal of it lately, unlike Tom and Adele of The Loose Ends Show who live close to San Diego and never have thunderstorms. WHY is that??? Also I have a great deal of important announcements on the show. The biggest of them being that I have started a podcasting group for swedish podcasters called SweCasters. Tue, 1 August 2006 Thrips, Trips and Millimeters Isn't it strange how small things can get? I'm always so astonished by how mice can find thier ways into small, small holes where you can hardly fit a finger. So, don't even get me started on Thrips. One just moved into my screen (picture)! And he didn't even ask first... And I've started cycling to work at last, and this time for real! And that is so much more healthy than driving, especially when you have encounters behind the steering wheel like we did on Sunday! Tell you more on the show. Want to know the answers to the quiz??? Tue, 25 July 2006 Too Damn Hot - Part II sort of...! Yet again I'm forced to record a show during extreme conditions just to get the drug of the Polarbear to you, my devoted listeners! I'm not really complaining but IT IS hot. We're not built to cope with these kinds of heat issues up here in the nordic regions. Got some info I'd like to share about Lebanon on this show. You know, Sweden is one of the first countries in the world to get their citizens out of that place. Impressive! Tue, 18 July 2006 Too Damn Hot! It's almost too hot to record. My voice sounds funny and the meters on the equipment indicate overheating! So heat is the natural topic of todays show. Hope you enjoy it! Clues to the Quiz: 1: All the people on the list are female 2: There are 2 singers and 6 actresses and two who can't decide 3: 7 of them are brunettes 4: One is from South Africa 5: One of them acts in a show recently nominated for a loooot of Emmy's. All this according to Marie! 6: One is actually soon to be the mother of 2 and has just hired a new Manny. 7: One of them hasn't been in the spotlight for a while, but when she was she had a habit of getting into tight spots on busses and boats. 8: One just got divorced and got half a casino in the process, in the show she plays on that is... Remember: we might be a season or two behind here in Europe. 9: One of them looks just as good in a nurses uniform from WWII as in a vampire slaying outfit. 10. One of them just can't seem to stay away from younger guys - in the show. She seems a bit desperate! 11: One of them played against an animated cat not so long ago and these days she's talking to dead people! 12: From "Beverly hills 90210" she took the Fastlane to fame and fortune 13: One of them takes turns in, on one hand making latino pop and on the other hand making movies, like one about a husband abusing her and another one about planning weddings. Now just today, after I recorded the show I also found out what kind of fence he is putting up and now I am a bit worried. You will be hearing a great deal from them in the future, but... this is nothing that will inflict on the content in any way! It's just a sponsor spot on the top of the show but I am very pleased and honored to have them on board. So why am I constantly going up to Stockholm? Well, today I give you the reasons and talk a little bit about the "big black hole" of design! The family has come out of the illness-period now! And it's great to be able to do things again; have a picnic, take a walk, go to the playground and so on! A new podcast has seen the light of day, but it's all in swedish this time, so I'm sorry, but many of you might not understand it. It's the first new show coming out of the Polarbear Studio since we started. And it's all about being a kid in Sweden today, and it features my son as the host! Wed, 19 April 2006 The post easter episode! This easter has been the worst family holiday ever. We've been sick, all of the family, and I have just gotten my head above waterlevel. Marie is still down and out an dwe'll see when she can get back to work. But the good side with that is that she can stay home with my son who is in his second week of chicken pox. We bought a car last week. A pitch black Opel Astra hatchback which is awesome. It's almost like new and has only rolled some 5000 swedish miles and that's not much. It still has that new-car smell. I'll be trying to put some Polarbear Podcast Stickers on the sides of the car now, just to give it that last touch... Thu, 6 April 2006 Hi everyone! It's come to my attention that my website isn't working properly in certain browsers. The main problem seems to appear in Apples Safari and Internet Explorer, PC-version. To your right you see how the website SHOULD look if displayed properly. I am looking over the system later tonight (when I get home from Stockholm) to see what the problem might be. Until then, please use the shownotes page (yeah, that's this one) since most information can be found here as well. If you have any comments regarding this issue, please send me an email or leave a comment! Thank you / Andy Category: podcasts -- posted at: 3:12 AM Comments[1] |
Tue, 4 April 2006 ![]() The rain keeps falling down!!! I decided last week that I would start riding my bike to work. Why you ask? Well for two reasons really. First of all I want to loose some weight and get into shape. I am so tired of being tired all the time. The second reason is pure financial. Taking the car to work costs me rediculous amounts every month. So I took the bike on thursday...just listen to what happened! I would like to welcome my brand new ClickGrid sponsor: Podernize.

Wed, 8 March 2006 So, we finally got it together and recorded a show last night! I am of course talking about the joint venture between The Zedcast and this show. We started recording at 11.30 PM local time in Sweden, and didn't finish until the clock struck 02.00 in the morning. Bruce did a great jobb on the tech-side and hopefully he will manage to edit the material down to an hour or so. As soon as he's done, you will find it here in the feed! In the meantime I just like to thank Carolyn and a few other people for their very kind donations, and as you might have seen on the website, the progress bar (of how close the expo trip is financially) has grown a bit. So a BIG thankyou to both of you! Shout-outs will come on the next show! Wed, 8 February 2006 I would like to remind you of the Polarbear ClickGrid, a wonderful way to support this show and at the same time promote your podcast or website to all of my listeners. Doing a podcast cost money and in order to not having to bring on regular advertisers on the show (which I absolutely do not want) I have decided to put up this so called ClickGrid where you can advertise your podcast or website at the low rate of $15 per year. Yes, that's right! For $15 you get your very own ad in the ClickGrid for a whole year! Now that's a bargain. Everyone who buys one square or more in the grid gets a shout-out on the show - for free! :-) If you feel that you would like to support the show and help me keeping it up, just click here and follow the three easy steps making you a proud sponsor of the Polarbear Podcast.
